GPU Currently = Radeon AMD 5870 PCI 2.1 GPU Planned = Radeon AMD 7970 PCI 3.0 Desktop noise is negligible. For gaming the GPU fan may rise to 30% (GPU temp 80C) which is again pretty quiet. Forced to 40-50% to drop the temp to 70C raised the noise to what would be considered undesirable although surround headphones are often used so case noise for gaming generally irrelevant.
