In the afternoon, took Bart to downtown. Fishman Wharf and Chinatown. July 4th, we drove to a famous bakery Tartine. long line. Very expensive. $16 for one sandwich. We went to a mission park nearby. It a beautiful park with a lot of people and dogs. Then we drove to Golden gate bridge, walking on the bridge one whole round. The length of the bridge is about 1.5 miles. We drove to Twin Peaks park. Too windy. we drove to Chinatown and ate hot food in one Thai restaurant and went back to twin peaks again. We waited until 9:26 pm. Sharon kept asking to leave and finally we gave up. Memory was not made. Back to hotel around 10:00 pm. 11:30 am, July 5th, checked out. The Big Sur state park (July 5-7) We stopped in Santa Jose for Walmart shopping and bought a tent, two chairs, and a air pad, but no vegetable there. Highway 1: we stopped in several places along the big sur state park area. Too windy. Cold. Monterey is beautiful but too cold. Yige said she once slept on a beach near Monterey. One night $35. Very huge (130 campsites) park. It said it was full but there was some spots. It was almost dark. Yige quickly set up a tent. Eat something and then we went to sleep. Tent is for four people, but three were just about right. At the midnight, it was hot and windy. July 6th, early morning, I got up and bought some firewood ($10) and ordered one more night. One was before Santa Barbara, one was after. We tried to find another one in the mountains, but we drove to a most dangerous road to painted cave. It was getting dark. The route was high and scary and winding. At the last turn, my car almost stopped in the middle of steep hill. Sharon said we would die tonig
