Dowel Bar Insertion for Load Transfer at Mid Panel Crack - Kansas Department of Transportation - Video VH-393B - This is a non-commercial video report on a Kansas SHRP test section of concrete pavement. Two processes are shown. First, at each mid- panel crack the pavement is sawn and cleaned, and the dowels are set. The pavement surface is then ground. In the second process, the transverse cracks are re-sealed: the original sealant is removed, each crack is cleaned, backer rod is placed, and sealant is then applied. Typical repair flaws are shown as well as successful seals.
