Honda Civic Type R BTCC Sound On Track - Sam Osborne Testing 2020 HD
Honda Civic Type R BTCC Testing earlier this year is a Honda Civic Type R FK2 driven by Sam Osborne for the 2020 British Touring Car Championship with 2.0 turbo-charged 4-cylinder producing over 350BHP. All the BTCC cars are built to NGTC regulations with emphasis on some common components being provided – turbo, wastegate, intercoolers, ECU (engine control unit), instrumentation and dash, power management system, six-speed sequential gearbox, fuel tanks, differential, subframe, steering, brakes, clutch, wheels, dampers and suspension – which keeps costs down for teams looking to compete and ensures independent teams can compete with manufacturer backed teams. Teams have the choice of using either TOCA’s Swindon prepared unbranded NGTC-spec engine or developing their own engine to the regulations, as long as it is from the same ‘family’ as their chosen model – all are 350+bhp 2-litre turbo-charged engines.
