Tamás 17 December 2016, Fridericianum Franco “Bifo” Berardi – A Short History of the Humiliation: National Workerism and the Showdown of Two Centuries of Colonialism The talk was focused on three points: 1. Why the Left is responsible of the present precipitation: the manipulation of the concept of “reform” and the complicity of the Left with the neoliberal elite 2. Humiliation and the social forces of labor: automation of decision and cancellation of democracy 3. The coming back of the white race and the global civil war Franco “Bifo” Berardi is a contemporary writer, media-theorist and media-activist. He founded the magazine "A/traverso" (1975-1981) and was part of the staff of Radio Alice, the first free pirate radio station in Italy (1976-1978). He has published numerous essays about culture and social movements in magazines such as Semiotext(e) and Chimères. In the 1990s he published "Mutazione e Cyberpunk" (1994), "Cibernauti" (1994), and "Felix" (2001). He is currently collaborating on the magazine DeriveApprodi as well as teaching social history of communication at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera in Milan. He is the co-founder of the e-zine rekombinant.org and the telestreet phenomenon. His most recent book, "And: Phenomenology of the end" has been published by Semiotext(e) in 2015.
