Elephant Toothpaste Small Explosion

This is me combining a huge chunk of solid potassium iodide (KI) with 30% hydrogen peroxide directly without using any soap to slow down the reaction. Instead of getting the elephant toothpaste, we get a very brief but dangerous explosive smoke released from the beaker. This was done in front of my M5A Chemistry class.
