Syria: First images show liberated Yarmouk after IS defeat by Syrian Army

The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) has reportedly concluded its seven-year long war with the self-proclaimed Islamic State (IS; formerly ISIL/ISIS), defeating the last pocket of militants in Yarmouk, first footage from of the retaken city showed on Tuesday. Footage showed SAA soldiers marching through the rubble, clearing the city from last remains of IS militants and chanting in victory. The area around the Yarmouk camp has been under IS control since the outbreak of the Syrian civil war in 2011.
