Why this Video is Important? Sampling is very imporatant because It makes storing of information easy and saves bandwith in case of signal transmission . In this video we are going to see the process of doing sampling and what restrictions or conditions that sampling had so that reconstruction of transmitted signal is possible. Real Life Applications: Sampling has wide range of applications ,In real life the quality of song downloaded is decided by the sampling rate. Means the quality of 320kbps song is more compared to 128kbps because the sampling rate is more and in a given time more samples are collected. In Mobile communication sampling plays a major role in converting continous to digital signal where QAM modulation is done. Explanation: The statement of sampling theorem is “any continous time signal can be reconstructed from its samples only if the sampling frequency is greater than twice the maximum message frequency”. In this lecture we have considered a continous time signal and sampling is done to it, then we have done frequency domain analysis of the discrete signal. In the spectrum we have observed replica of spectrum as discrete in one domain becomes periodic in the other domain, So to get back actual spectrum of continous signal we design a filter. Then we got condition on sampling frequency to get back the spectrum of continous message.
