The Battle of Ghunib was a siege between the Russian Empire (1721–1917) and the Caucasian Imamate (1834–1859) in 1859. After 25 years of armed resistance Imam Shamil with his sons surrendered to the Russians. But Baysangur Beno, his nawab, and other Caucasians soldiers decided to break out from Russians envelopment.
