On Sunday, January 7, 2018 at 2302 hours, District 4 Deputies were dispatched to an Assault Past, in the 37000 block of Little Thorn Ln., in the Magnolia Area. A female reportee advised that as she was leaving the area after dropping off her ex-husband (Rusty Lee Pratt), and she saw him get struck by a small black vehicle. The vehicle was driven by a female, known by the reportee. The witness further advised that a male passenger got out of the car and held the victim down, while the female struck the victim with a “tire iron”. According to separate witnesses, during the attack the victim was able to break free from the attackers and ran into the wooded area at east end of Bluebonnet. The alleged attackers chased the victim into the woods before leaving the scene. Due to the reported severity of the attack, Magnolia Fire Department responded to the scene and along with MCSO Deputies attempted to locate the victim but due to inclement weather the search was suspended and Montgomery County Search and Rescue were requested with its volunteers who are specially trained and search equipment. On-Call Critical Incident Command was contacted, responded and established a MCSO On-Scene Command. West Patrol Division deputies have located two involved persons described by witnesses and a “tire iron” has been recovered. The persons of interest are being questioned and interviewed as of this Media Release. The search is ongoing in an effort to find the victim and to provide any needed emergency care. Area Hospitals have been contacted and no one has sought medical attention with injuries described by the witnesses. Air support was not available due to weather conditions. If anyone comes into contact with Pratt, they are urged to contact the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.
