Iran made 7.62x51mm assault rifle dubbed Zolfaqar ساخت تفنگ جنگي سرباز بنام ذوالفقار ايران HD

June 26, 2017 (Persian calendar 1396/4/5) Iran unveiled a new type of battle rifle designed and manufactured by domestic experts to replace Heckler & Koch G3 assault rifles currently used by the country’s Armed Forces. In a ceremony held in Tehran on Friday, the rifle named “Zolfaqar ذوالفقار”, weighting 3.5 kilograms (7.716 pounds) and presumably in 7.62x51mm caliber, was put on display. The operational range of the weapon is up to 400 meters without riflescope and reaches up to 800 meters with the gear. Since all materials used for the manufacture of this weapon exist inside the country, the cost of its production is relatively low.
