Biotechnology Technologist - Durham College HD

http://www.durhamcollege.ca/programs/biotechnology-technologist/ Students will conduct extensive experiments in cell and molecular biology in our Biotechnology laboratory and learn how to isolate and manipulate DNA; purify and characterize protein; and grow and maintain cells in tissue culture. Once basic skills are developed, students will apply them to real-world research projects in order to develop more advanced research, data management and communications skills. Students will develop highly transferrable laboratory skills essential to the biotechnology industry such as analytical instrumentation, biochemistry, bioprocessing, cell biology, microbiology and pharmaceuticals. This program will prepare students to obtain employment in a wide variety of science-related industries including agriculture, biomedical research, bioremediation, biosciences, energy production and pharmaceuticals.
