The Durham WAR Eagles brings the 2015 Sir Purr Bowl title to Durham, NC !! The Durham WAR Eagles, of the Durham Eagles Athletic Association, DID IT !! They traveled to Charlotte to compete in the Carolina Panthers Sir Purr Bowl and left as 2015 Sir Purr Bowl champions with a 6 - 0 victory over the Winston-Salem Vikings. The winning TD came after the 2nd play of the Durham WAR Eagles offensive series. With outstanding pass protection from the offensive line, Aiden Beatty completed a long pass to Jayon Brown who took it in for the only TD of the series in front of thousands of Carolina Panther fans. Truly an unforgettable experience for these outstanding young leaders, thanks to the Carolina Panthers !! The Sir Purr Bowl provides Pop Warner Pee Wee teams and cheerleading squads the once-in-a-lifetime experience of playing in an NFL stadium. Four teams from the Carolinas compete in the Ray Bowl each year to determine who plays in the Sir Purr Bowl. The 2015 Ray Bowl was held on September 12th at Cary High School in Cary, NC. The Winston Salem Tiny Vikings defeated the Jacksonville Storm in Game 1 and the Durham WAR Eagles defeated the PAL Raiders from Charlotte in Game 2 . Winston Salem and Durham played each other in the Sir Purr Bowl at Bank of America Stadium prior to the Carolina Panthers home game against the New Orleans Saints on Sunday, Sept 27th, scoring a TD pass after the 2nd play of their offensive series.
