Kepier Gorge HD
This Public Declaration document to Durham County Council (DCC) and Councillors (in their private capacity) is hereby made on All Saints Day - November 1st, 2018 and concerns suspected professional negligence as a result of DCC’s failure to consider the Cocken Bridge Route. The Kepier Gorge “Vanity Bridge” proposal would bring permanent negative transformation to the historic, environmental and ecological value of Durham City. This LEGAL NOTICE and Declaration requires a public explanation as to why the logistically faster, slightly longer but far easier to construct Cocken Bridge route has not had an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA). Passing though agricultural, residential and industrial landscapes unlike the existing Kepier Gorge proposal of historic and ecological impact, the Cocken Bridge route would better serve the functional requirements of a Durham Northern Relief Road project as it would have superior motorway access. The publication of the fact that otters inhabit Kepier Gorge is certainly negligent and thus the existing DCC proposal is called into disrepute. The fact that the DCC plan for the entire County has been rejected at a national level also indicates that the existing Relief Road proposal may not be fit for purpose. This NOTICE has been sent to Helen Lynch (Head of Legal & Democratic Services, County Hall, Durham, DH1 5UL - helen.lynch@durham.gov.uk). Please write to express your views about this pressing matter. DCC has 28 days to reply (by November 28th) to this Notice to avoid automatically falling into dishonour. L.J. Standen M.Sc.
