Please enjoy! The Tetris Theme is based on the traditional Russian folk song Korobeiniki. Since the release of Tetris, the tune has become one of the most well-known and loved themes to any video game ever. The original folk song of Korobeiniki, before it was turned into the theme for Tetris, is about a young woman meeting a merchant and haggling over goods as a metaphor for courtship. It was based on a poem by Nikolay Nekrasov, with a peasant girl being courted by a peddler in a rye field. After offering her some of his goods in return for a kiss, and he pledges to marry her after finishing his next day in the market. This piano arrangement of the Tetris Theme gets harder and harder as it goes, so prepare to practice in order to nail this one down! This music is best attempted by upper intermediate to advanced level pianists.
