Trillionaires Movie Trailer
Inspired by the true story of the infamous hedge fund Long Term Capital Management, "The Trillionaires" is a fast-paced black comedy about three financial geniuses and their insatiable greed for more. Founded in 1994 by John Meriwether, the legendary king of bond trading at Salomon Brothers, along with future Nobel Laureates Robert Merton and Myron Scholes who revolutionized modern finance with their groundbreaking theory on options pricing, Long Term Capital Management at its peak had $130 billion in assets under management and a derivatives portfolio with a value of approximately $1 trillion. Then in five weeks in 1998, it lost nearly everything and brought the global banking system to the brink of meltdown, until the U.S. Federal Reserve stepped in to help sort out the mess LTCM created, which resulted in the biggest organized bail-out in U.S. history prior to the current global financial crisis. Extensively researched, based on insider accounts, published documents and articles in the financial press, "The Trillionaires" follows the three men at the core of a financial roller coaster that quickly rose, only to tumble from great heights, and in the process created a fiscal black hole from which almost no one in its grasp escaped unscathed.
