Juneteenth BBQ HD
This year we celebrate Juneteenth by sharing some of our favorite barbecue recipes. All of the recipes can be found below. Grilled Steak Kabobs Ingredients: 1/4 cup of soy sauce, 3 T light brown sugar, 3T distilled white vinegar, 1/2 t garlic powder, 1/2 t seasoned salt, 1/2 t garlic pepper, 4 fl oz lemon-lime flavored carbonated beverage, 2 lbs beef sirloin steak cut into 1 1/2in cubes, 2 green bell peppers, 1/2 lb fresh mushrooms, 1 pint cherry tomatoes, 1 fresh pineapple, 8 slices of bacon. Directions: 1. In a medium bowl, mix soy sauce, light brown sugar, distilled white vinegar, garlic powder, seasoned salt, garlic pepper seasoning, and lemon-lime flavored carbonated beverage. Reserve 1/2 cup of this marinade for basting. Place steak in a large resealable plastic bag. Cover with the remaining marinade, and seal. Refrigerate for 8 hours, or overnight. 2. Bring a saucepan of water to a boil. Add green peppers, and cook for 1 minute, just to blanch. Drain, and set aside. 3. Preheat grill for high heat. Thread steak, green peppers, mushrooms, tomatoes, and pineapple onto skewers in an alternating fashion. Discard marinate and the bag. 4. Cook kabobs on the grill for 10 minutes or to the desired doneness. Recipe from Allrecipes.com Jerk Ribs Ingredients: Jerk seasoning, Dry Rub, Olive Oil, Ribs Directions: 1. Create a paste with the jerk seasoning, dry rub, and the olive oil. 2. Rub the paste on both sides of the ribs and let them marinate overnight. 3. Bake the ribs in the oven for 90 minutes, then grill for 20 minutes. Spiced Lamb Ingredients: 4 lamb steaks, 3 T olive oil, 2t of ground cumin, 1T of ground coriander, 1/2t nutmeg, 2t turmeric, 1-2t chili powder, 1/2t ground cardamom, 1t of ginger, 1t ground cinnamon, 3 garlic cloves, 2t salt, 1t black pepper, lemon wedges to serve. Directions: 1. Combine all the spices, garlic, ginger, and olive oil in a small bowl and set aside. 2. Rub the spice mixture into the lamb chops and repeat on the other side. 3. Grill the lam for 3-4 minutes on each side and allow to rest for 5 minutes before serving. Recipe from Simply Delicious
