4K GH4 Snapshort Grading Test HD

06.08.2014
Just compiled some footage I shot over the last few days. I wanted to test some Grading with my custom Natural and Cinelike D Footage. Almost every clip has been graded with Kinoluts only. Just a few scenes had to be toned down in contrast because the exposures were too high on those. I found out that, if I shot about 2/3 of a stop underexposed, it was easier to grade the footage afterwards. Also, the Cinelike D Settings felt hard to colorgrade and had to be drastically edited with curve adjustments. Yet they seem to have a tad more Dynamic Range. My personal favorite so far are the natural settings, which I got from the Reduser Forum. They have a nice even color curve to it, as you can see here: goo.gl/ZDNgKK and it does not fiddle around with skintones. I still have to test the James Miller Preset though.
