Let’s start with the differences in app settings between the stock DJI 15mm MFT that’s included with the X5s and the Laowa 7.5mm lens. Starting out with the 15mm you’re offered all the available options and features available for the Inspire 2 to utilize in flight. The 7.5mm, on the other hand, does not allow you to utilize the full potential by excluding some features that you may find important. These features are as follows: There are only 2 color profiles selectable while using the Venus. Normal and D-Cinelike. You’re able to record in h264 and h265 .mov and .mp4 however you’re no able to utilize the 17:9 and 2.44:1 profiles only 16:9 4k 2.7k and 1080p are available. Image sizes are the same 4:3 and 16:9 as well as the format selections of raw and jpeg, however, if you want to shot raw you will have to select it every time you power on the Inspire 2 as it does not store the settings. It is also beneficial to run through your selections every time you power up as they may have reset themselves randomly. This is more of a nuisance than a deal breaker as most times we are generally tweaking the settings anyway. While we are on the topic of nuisances lets talk about manual mode on the venus laowa 7.5mm. This lens does allow manual adjustments in the app but only if you have first mounted the 15mm and select M mode. Once this is done you can then swap lenses to the 7.5mm. If M mode is changed while using the 7.5mm you will not be able to select M mode until repeating the process with the stock lens. This is true for about 95% of the time. I have been able to somehow select M mode without swapping lens’ but have yet to be able to repeat it. This is the same with color profiles as I have been able to fly in D-log once but cannot repeat that as well. A and S modes work but are fickle at best and will only lead to frustration if relied on to get the appropriate balance and exposure. The last issue that really stuck out at me was the inability to perform spotlight mode. I attempted several times to have it track a couple of still objects and it just wouldn’t work. I will have to test this out further as this is a very important feature to have and could affect the usefulness of this lens. With active track, I feel like the performance was on the same level as the stock 15mm lens but will require an additional test to fully verify. Let’s switch to the manual settings on the lens itself. I find that infinity is just to the edge of the symbol allowing for the focus peaking to be its brightest. The camera is the sharpest at f2.0 but make sure y
