The female is addicted to her significant other, while he is addicted to alcohol. There are flashbacks of happier times, when he was sober, and she was falling in love. She begins to take notice of his drinking problem after he misses a show that they are supposed to be playing together at a local cafe. At this show, she meets a big-wig in the music industry and is "discovered" without her partner standing at the mic beside her. Ultimately, he chooses his addiction over her, and she makes the decision to leave him... Flash forward a couple of years and Jill is being escorted onstage by that big-wig she met, while curtis is getting kicked out of a bar - a scene his character has seen one too many times.
