Horizon Zero Dawn - Launch party in Amsterdam HD
HORIZON ZERO DAWN – LAUNCH PARTY So here it is! I am so happy that Liza came with me to film and give you this small impression of this amazing event. In short; it was amazing. It was like a dream, a wonderful dream coming true. The party was held at the Hotel Arena in Amsterdam, a beautiful hotel in the middle of a park. There were projections all over the front of the hotel, depicting the landscapes and corruption from the game, which gave an amazing effect right at the entrance. As you can see in the video, I was allowed to stand in the little glass box, high elevated above the ground, to portray Aloy and for people to see as they walked in. It was so amazing to stand there, posing, and seeing all the camera flashes down below! Then the party started and we went down to the chapel, which was decorated in a Horizon Zero Dawn theme. The party was opened with a heartfelt speech by Hermen Hulst, thanking all those who had worked on the game. He also addressed the Aloy cosplayers, and I felt so incredibly humbled by that, I was trying not to cry and ruin my make-up right at the start haha! Then we could dance and mingle and have a ton of fun. Hermen had told people to ‘take Aloy for a twirl’ and people sure did! The whole night was just so awesome, I got to meet Hideo Kojima, whom I so incredibly admire, and also Ashly Burch, the voice of Aloy! It was so incredible to meet these people and …just to realize that I was there! *__* I feel like there’s so much to tell but it’s all in the excitement and the happiness that was there. The reaction from the Guerrilla staff was also just amazing. I was so floored by them being so happy to see me and the other Aloys, and all of their incredibly positive reactions. I loved to see people getting excited when they found out about the movement in the bow, and started chasing one another with it, haha! At the end of the night I felt like I’d gotten so many compliments, I could not possibly accept any more. There was just too much love for me to contain and all I wanted to do is give all that love back to all these wonderful people. Amongst those wonderful people were also Skunk & Weasel, who made my night even more incredibly awesome. Guys, I loved getting to meet you again and I hope we can hang out again soon! Finally, getting to hear Julie Elven’s live performance… well. It brought tears to my eyes. I stayed up for as long as my feet would carry me, because I never wanted the night to end. I am incredibly grateful to have been a part of this launch event and now every time I boot up the game, I can’t help but smile. This night will be a memory I’ll forever cherish. Guerrilla Games, thank you. Thank you for everything! -Sophie
