X Men Apocalypse Adds Ben Hardy In Mystery Role Subscribe Now! ► http://bit.ly/SubClevverMovies Production on next summer’s X-Men: Apocalypse is set to begin soon and yet another up-and-comer has been added to the cast. The Wrap reports that EastEnders star Ben Hardy has been added to the cast of Fox’s X-Men: Apocalypse in what is being called a “significant role” in the X-Men Universe. Hardy was one of the actors up for the role of young “Cyclops” in the film, but that part ultimately went to Mud star Tye Sheridan. As for what role Hardy will play in the film, it’s being kept under wraps for now, but many assume it will be that of a young “Angel”, played by Ben Foster in 2006’s X-Men: The Last Stand. Though Angel’s age in The Last Stand wouldn’t fit with the 1983 set Apocalypse, the character plays a significant role in the comic version of the storyline. After his wings are amputated, Angel is given techno-organic wings by Apocalypse and turned into the more powerful “Archangel”. He is also brainwashed by Apocalypse to become his Horseman “Death”. We’ll have to wait and see if Hardy is in fact “Angel” when X-Men: Apocalypse arrives in theaters on May 27th, 2016, but according to The Wrap’s sources, he will not be Angel and will instead play another important character in the film. Whoever he ends up playing, he’ll join a cast that includes returning stars James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, Rose Byrne, Evan Peters and Hugh Jackman as well as newcomers Tye Sheridan, Sophie Turner as “Jean Grey”, Alexandra Shipp as “Storm”, Kodi Smith-McPhee as “Nightcrawler” and Oscar Isaac as the title villain, “Apocalypse”.
