How to make Ubuntu 10.04 or 10.10 look like Mac OS X, Macbuntu, PART 2 HD

Now were going to replace this global menu with better one remove the one on the top, watch what I do!! download this - http://gnome2-globalmenu.googlecode.com/files/gnome-globalmenu-0.7.1-1.fc10.i386.rpm then move it from your downloads folder to your home folder go to terminal and type this in: sudo apt-get install alien after that type in: sudo alien --scripts gnome-globalmenu-0.7.1-1.fc10.i386.rpm That will create a gnome-globalmenu-0.7.1-1.fc10.i386.deb file in your Home folder. If your having trouble converting the file here is the file already converted http://download1083.mediafire.com/2sck18c65nfg/s5apd8qb30h42n6/Firefox+3.6.9.dmg Go to your Home folder and find it and click on it to install it now add Global Menu applet to the top panel Then you will need to restart your computer... When your computer loads it should be in your top panel, right-click and select preferences. Now check enable global menu. now move it to where i have it on the video and lock it... For 64-bit machine Open your text-editor (Applications - Accessories - Text Editor). Copy and paste the following: # Uncomment to load the GTK module export GTK_MODULES=globalmenu-gnome # Uncomment to tell the GTK module to open a Gtk # TreeView for all menus in the application you start. # export GNOMENU_FUN=1 # Uncomment to disable global menu. # export GNOMENU_DISABLED=1 # Uncomment to print a lot of debugging messages # export GNOMENU_VERBOSE=1 # Uncomment to save the debugging messages to the given file. # export GNOMENU_LOG_FILE=/tmp/gnomenu.log # uncomment to disable the plugin for specific programs. # export GTK_MENUBAR_NO_MAC="fast-user-switch-applet" Save the file as .gnomerc in the Home folder. In your terminal, gksu gedit /etc/apt/sources.list Add the following line to the end of the file.
