Linux - How to Add Yourself to the Sudoers List (Debian)

A quick tutorial showing how to add yourself to the sudoers list if you are unable to use the sudo command and receive an error along the lines of "Error!: The user is not root. This incident will be reported" This tutorial is specifically for Debian 7 Wheezy, but will work on other distros using the sudo command. Commands in order: su - nano /etc/sudoers sudo apt-get update
