The iPodia Alliance - Classrooms-without-Borders

23.10.2013
The iPodia program (where "i" stands for inverted, interactive, and international) was developed in 2009 by Professor Stephen Lu of the Viterbi School of Engineering at the University of Southern California (USC). In 2012, USC established the iPodia Alliance as an independent, not-for-profit, global consortium among leading universities to promote the iPodia pedagogy and the "classrooms-without-borders" paradigm. As of spring 2013, the iPodia Alliance includes: USC in Los Angeles, USA; Peking University (PKU) in Beijing, China; National Taiwan University (NTU) in Taipei, Taiwan; Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) in Daejeon, South Korea; Israel Institute of Technology (Technion) in Haifa, Israel; RWTH Aachen University (AACHEN) in Aachen, Germany; India Institute of Technology - Bombay (IITB) in Mumbai, India; Escola Politécnica da Universidade de São Paulo (EPUSP) in São Paulo, Brazil; and Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) Pilani, in Hyderabad, India. All iPodia institutions retain their independent identities, degree programs, and curriculum requirements and work together strategically to develop interactive courseware and deliver joint classes using the iPodia platform.
