San Diego: Armed Robbery Suspect Captured 07292019 HD
INCIDENT DATE/TIME: 7-29-19 9:50 am LOCATION: 33rd St & National Ave CITY: San Diego DETAILS: A SDPD Robbery Detective spotted a male suspect wanted in an Armed Robbery of the Ideal Market at 31st St & National last week. The suspect used a handgun to rob the store of an undisclosed amount of lottery tickets. The detective was out looking for the suspect and saw him with other people near a homeless encampment along Chollas Creek. SDPD officers were called in and they detained the suspect along with another male. After questioning, the other male was released and allowed to leave. The suspect was arrested. From SDPD: On July 22, 2019 at 6:30 a.m., San Diego Police officers responded to 3101 National Avenue to investigate an armed robbery at the Ideal Market. A Hispanic male entered the business holding a pistol demanding lottery scratchers. The suspect had his face covered with a t-shirt. The clerk complied with the demands and the suspect took lottery scratchers and left the market. The case was investigated by the San Diego Police Robbery Unit. During the investigation, the suspect was identified as Daniel Martinez (DOB: 12/22/1998). Today at 10:00 a.m., robbery detectives saw Daniel Martinez at 3100 National Avenue. With the assistance of Central Division patrol officers, Martinez was taken into custody without incident. Martinez was booked into San Diego County Jail and charged with armed robbery.
