The pequi celebration: upe HD
The traditional seasonal celebration of pequi among the indigena wauja, which is held during the period (october-november) of ripening of the fruit of caryocar brasiliens, or pequi tree, is a ceremonial cycle whose symbolic significance is closely linked to the mythological notions of the people. This video was shot by a russian anthropologist Andrey Matusovskiy during a stay among the indigena wauja (Brazil, Mato Grosso, Xingu indigenous park, Piyulaga, november 2013).
