New York City Mayor Eric Adams, Buffalo police commissioner Joseph Gramaglia and other witnesses testified on Wednesday at a House Oversight and Reform Committee hearing on gun violence. Earlier in the hearing, parents of a student who was killed in the Texas school shooting, the mom of a survivor of the Buffalo shooting and other witnesses gave opening statements. Miah Cerrillo, a fourth grader at Robb Elementary who survived the deadly mass shooting at the school, said in a video statement that she smeared her classmate’s blood on herself and played dead after a gunman opened fire in her classroom in Uvalde, Texas, on May 24.
