BIFF! POW! It’s Adam West! HD

A warm, happy, contented feeling. That’s the feeling you get from watching James Tooley’s documentary “Starring Adam West”. Lee and I rarely watch TV, but one evening we decided to try out another NetFlix documentary. We’d had great success with Bronies, Elon Musk, and 20 Feet From Stardom. All of them were home runs. Adam West breathed life into Batman. With his matinee-style good looks and his smoothy smooth voice, Adam West looks like someone who could easily be full of himself. It turns out he’s far from it. In the sixties, Adam West rocketed all the way up to #1 on TV. He was a full-blown star. Nationally – and then soon enough – internationally. And then – just as quickly – he plummeted all the way back down again to zero. Actually, in some ways, less than zero, as the specter of the caped crusader would haunt him for years. (For two years after the show, personal appearances where the only way Adam West could make a living.) Batman may have haunted him for years, but once Adam West finally made friends with his iconic signature role, he found his way back into Hollywood’s arms. At this point Adam West has over 60 movie and over 80 TV guest appearance credits. He’s currently voicing Mayor Adam West on Family Guy. And what a charming man Adam West turns out to be. A wonderful soul. A good father, partner and friend. Adam West truly is a superhero.
