MUST SEE Mavericks Fans Celebrate Championship ın Dallas
Welcoming the NBA Champs Home to Dallas.. While the Dallas Mavericks battled victoriously in hostile surroundings Sunday night in Miami thousands in Dallas immersed themselves in the friendliest environments they could find for Game 6 of the NBA Finals. An anticipated 18 000 filled a sold out watch party at American Airlines Center and many more gathered at bars clubs and anywhere else with fans wearing blue shirts and jeering the Miami Heat. After the doors opened at the AAC the packed stands turned blue thanks to fans almost universally decked out in Mavericks gear. The revved up crowd quickly moved from celebrating Game 5 victory highlights on the video boards to immersing themselves in Game 6.Moods shifted after every turnover defensive stop or graceful jump shot.As Denise Wright from Grand Prairie watched the Mavericks score 40 points during the second quarter she couldn 39 t help but scream.Look at the score she shouted. Woo The 5 general admission tickets to the AAC sold out in less than an hour Friday with the proceeds going to charity. Fans started lining up four hours before the game despite temperatures in the high 90s.For those who couldn 39 t get a ticket to join the packed house at the AAC there were other options. At least 2 500 watched on the screens outside at AT T Plaza even though officials had said they wouldn 39 t show the game there. Police had even discouraged people from gathering at the ACC unless they had tickets for the party inside.I didn 39 t really expect this many out here said Jose Hauxwell of Frisco who was sitting in a lawn chair he brought with him. I love the atmosphere.Longtime fan Scott Holshouser of Richardson has seen the worst the Mavericks have to offer. He moved here from North Carolina in 1989 and bought season tickets through the 39 90s. In that lost decade the Mavericks finished at or near the bottom of the league every year.I 39 ve always pulled for Dirk Nowitzki said Holshouser watching the game at Champps Restaurant Bar in Addison. He has always done the right thing honesty character the fundamentals. I like when the good guys win.Plus as an Austrian he said he has to pull for the guy from another German speaking country. In fact he joked that he might be mistaken for the 7 foot Nowitzki if only he were a lot taller. The crowd couldn 39 t compete with the AAC but the Granada Theater on Greenville Avenue planned for about 500 people Sunday night.Longtime Mavs fan Susana Arellano spent an hour constructing a Styrofoam replica of the championship trophy before taking it to the Granada party. The 20 year old was unwavering in her confidence that her elaborate headwear wouldn 39 t jinx the team. Also in the crowd at the Granada was Dallas mayoral candidate David Kunkle posing for pictures and celebrating with fellow fans. He 39 s in a runoff with Mike Rawlings for Dallas 39 top elected post. This is almost as good as being at the game all the people around you ge
