Robert Lewandowski becomes EMOTIONAL while talking about Jürgen Klopp. Ever since Robert Lewandowski’s move to Bundesliga back in 2010 after he joined Borussia Dortmund for a fee around 4.5 million euros, the world has seen his meteoric rise under former Dortmund coach Jurgen Klopp. Jurgen Klopp played a critical role in Polish striker’s development and forged him into one of the most lethal strikers on the planet. Robert Lewandowski’s best performance of his career came under Jurgen Klopp when he shockingly scored 4 goals in 2013 UEFA Champions League match against mighty Real Madrid and single handedly destroyed them. That was the game when Lewandowski rose to the fame and announced himself to the whole world in the most emphatic fashion. Speaking to The Player’s Tribube, Lewandowski labelled his former coach Jurgen Klopp as the “bad teacher” who always pushed him and propelled him on the path to greatness. Lewandowski said “Jurgen was not only a father figure to me. As a coach, he was like the “bad” teacher. And I mean that in the best sense of the word. “Let me explain. Think back to you when you were in school. Which teacher do you remember the most? Not the one who made life easy for you and never expected anything from you. No, no, no. You remember the bad teacher, the one who was strict with you. The one who put pressure on you and did everything to get the best out of you. That’s the teacher who made you better, right? And Jurgen was like that. “He was not content to let you be a B student, you know? Jurgen wanted A+ students. He didn’t want it for him. He wanted it for you. “He taught me so much. When I arrived at Dortmund, I wanted to do everything quickly: strong pass, one touch only. Jurgen showed me to calm down - to take two touches if necessary. “It was totally against my nature, but soon I was scoring more goals. “When I perfected that technique, he challenged me to speed it up. One touch. BANG. Goal. He slowed me down to speed me up. It sounds simple, but it was genius, really.” Robert Lewandoski left Dortmund for Bayern Munich where he has become the best No. 9 on the planet scoring tremendous amount of goals and winning multiple trophies. In 2019/20 season, Robert Lewandowski helped Bayern Munich to win their 6th UEFA Champions League trophy scoring record 15 goals. Lewandowski reached another personal milestone in his career when he was awarded FIFA Best Men’s Player of the Year in 2020 by defeating the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.
