Parrotlets’ Vet Checkup Jan 28, 2018 HD

Koolaid and Smokey had their checkup yesterday. Everything is stable, nothing worse. Smokey got her #lupron shot, Dr. McDonald had a lot of questions about their housing arrangements so she could get an idea of how long they are together, which does contribute to unnecessary nesting behaviour. I stopped giving Smokey the Enalapril cuz I just felt she didn’t need it anymore...so the Dr is ok with that, as she can see Smokey’s heart and breathing is not too bad really. - Dr M. Was all concerned with Koolaid’s nostril - she said he had something dark in there.. she was going to take him to the back to check it...then I told her I syringe-fed them wild blueberry juice the night before & he probably snorted some of it out LOL Regardless, he got his nares cleaned! Haha! _ I assume Koolaid still has an enlarged liver, and who knows about Smokey - no radiographs this time - but I have some time off work & that’ll give me some extra time for all my pets esp these two. _ I told Dr McDonald I’ve started giving them #MilkThistle tincture (well known heavy duty liver detoxifier), and #Lomatium root, non alcohol no fillers -Natures’s Answer brand (a powerful antibiotic, helpful for #respiratoryinfections/ #streptococcus bacteria and other viral conditions)—via the #MedicalMedium. Dr M asked me to repeat that one so she could write it down & check it out So she wants to see them in one month to see how this goes. Great. No pressure lol _ So that made me get my crap together and make more of the fresh birdy mash last night —the mix I blend with frozen #wildblueberries (not the large cultivated ones! Huge difference) , a bit of other berries, cilantro, carrots, hemp seeds, other greens... and mix it all up with Harrison’s Lifetime Mash powder, so they’re all set with that for the upcoming weeks (I freeze them in batches).
