2018 Acura TLX | CarGurus Impressions HD

Last year’s Acura TLX was no slouch but the auto industry never slows down when working to deliver the next best thing. So, for 2018, Acura has delivered a refreshed TLX featuring a new grille, tweaked headlights, and a sport-tuned A-Spec trim. Is it enough to bring you to the local Acura dealership? The A-Spec trim is brand new for 2018 and features an updated body kit, complete with new side skirts and a black decklid spoiler. Although the powertrain remains the same as the rest of the TLX lineup, Acura promises a sport-tuned suspension and steering set-up for the A-Spec. Under the hood of all TLXs is your choice of a 4-cylinder or V6 engine. While the inline-4 is paired with an 8-speed automatic, the larger motor works with a 9-speed. Acura’s Super Handling All-Wheel-Drive is also available on the TLX—but only V6-powered models. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included on the improved 2-screen infotainment system, which should deliver faster response speeds compared to the outgoing version. The AcuraWatch suite of safety features comes standard on the TLX and will deliver plenty of active safety features, from adaptive cruise control to automatic emergency braking. Pricing and fuel economy haven’t been announced, but we expect both to be in line with the outgoing TLX’s figures.
