Chinese know that and they are offering similar looking console for as low as $20. These clones come with "500" NES games, including some original games as well as modified games (different graphics, cheats enabled etc). Controllers use nine pin connectors, similar to ones found in for example old Ataris and Amigas. This console is most likely based on chip that has all the internals of original NES crammed into one IC and thus the controllers might use same protocol and electrical interface as original NES...
