Watch this medical education video about the classification of epithelia and improve your histology knowledge. You can also watch this video and many other free lectures at Lecturio: https://www.lecturio.com/medical-courses/types-of-tissues.course?utm_source=youtube&utm_medium=video&utm_content=description&utm_campaign=medizin_histology Your lecturer is Professor Geoff Meyer. He is currently teaching at the School of Anatomy, Physiology and Human Biology at the University of Western Australia (UWA). As an leading anatomy and histology expert he is also coordinator of the Federative International Program for Anatomical Terminologies (FIPAT) of the International Federation of Associations of Anatomists (IFAA). Aside from medical research on the ovarian function, steroidogenesis, corpus luteum, angiogenesis and microcirculation Geoff Meyer’s research activities focus on developing innovative, computer-aided learning and teaching tools. Being such innovative, Geoff Meyer has received a number of awards for his work, including the Australian University Teaching Award. The video “Classification of Epithelial Tissue” is part of the lecture “Connective Tissue: Epithelium” of the online medical course “Types of Tissues”. It gives you an excellent insight into the classification of epithelia. You will learn more about: • Classifying epithelium types based on cell shape and cell layers • Different types of epithelial tissue: • Simple epithelial tissue - Simple squamous epithelium - Simple cuboidal epithelia - Simple columnar epithelia • Stratified epithelial tissue - Stratified squamous nonkeratinized epithelia - Stratified cuboidal epithelia - Stratified keratinized epithelia - Stratified columnar epithelia • Pseudostratified columnar epithelium • Transitional epithelium If you want to become a histology expert, feel free to watch our playlists including hundreds of free online lectures.
