11-5 Independent Samples t Test in SPSS HD

Using a dog-training example, we compare two types of reinforcement training using an independent samples t-test. We work through the five steps of hypothesis testing, and conduct the independent samples t-test in SPSS. We evaluate the Levene’s Test for Equality of Variances and compute Cohen’s d. Finally, we interpret the results and write them up in proper APA style. (Updated 6/17 to reflect changes in the Effect Size Calculator).
