Refuting Critics who say I’m part of a “Cult”

Video Transcript: In our culture the world cult has a negative connotation and typically refers to those who have socially deviated. Today there are many well accepted churches such as the Baptist Church and many other well established organizations. They think they are justified because of their many members. MANY people are like them. They are NOT socially deviant. How could so many people be wrong? But they are not exempt from cult-like behavior and they are spiritually deviant before GOD. When I first came preaching Jesus on youtube I was hesitant to associate with other brothers in the LORD. I didn’t want people falsely accusing me of being part of a “cult” so I just didn’t contact anyone. However the Holy Spirit, He convicted me and told me not to worry at all what people think, but just to encourage those who I know are true brothers in the LORD. So I started to contact those who I knew were true brothers and sisters in the LORD. It has been a wonderful privilege to have fellowship with these people, to be encouraged, to mutually be encouraged as brothers and sisters in the LORD, in Christ. A lot of people though have accused me of being a cult member. You know, these same people that will accuse me, they may have NO PROBLEM listening to someone like John MacArthur for hours, getting his commentary, or listening to their pastor and going to their church for day after day after day. They have NO PROBLEM with listening to their cult members, but they will accuse someone for leaving THEIR church. They will accuse someone who does NOT associate with THEIR pastors. Is that not cult-like? We NEED to make SURE we are really following JESUS and having fellowship with the true brothers and sisters and not giving up the TRUE fellowship, THAT IS WITH JESUS, that is not a cult, that is fellowship with JESUS CHRIST. The cults of today are following after men. They are not encouraging the true brothers and sisters, they are just encouraging their “pastor”, their cult leader. But those who truly love Jesus have His HOLY SPIRIT, they are listening to HIM, and they go wherever the Holy Spirit leads them. So are you really following Jesus and encouraging brothers and sisters who are ALSO following Jesus, are you encouraged by them? OR are you like the ones making the accusations? May the grace of Jesus be with you. Seek to please Jesus, not men. Even if 100,000 people in sin agree they are not deviant, they are STILL deviant before Jesus and they are on their way to hell. Make sure you really repent, seek Jesus before it is too late.
