Hatch living creatures from the age of the dinosaurs and see how your Triops double in size each day. Triops hatch in 24 hours, can grow up to 4cm long and have an incredible life cycle. You may also hatch other creatures such as Clam Shrimp, Fairy Shrimp and Daphnia. Please note: We guarantee that 1 Triop will hatch, but you could have anything between 3-4 Triops that hatch. Main rules to hatch triops: Use bottled water (still natural spring) or rain water. Do not use tap water as it may contain chlorine that is toxic to Triops. In order for Triops eggs to hatch, the water needs to be at a constant temperature between 21° - 27° C degrees and have at least 12 hours of light a day. In the summer months no artificial heat or light is required but in colder months you may need to use a desk lamp to provide extra heat and light. Feed your Triops on day three. If you have the pelleted variety food, crush it into a powder between two spoons and add a very small pinch. Repeat this every other day. Too much food could kill your Triops, so if you notice any uneaten food at the bottom of the tank do not add more until it has gone. Please be patient and always wait 7-10 days before deciding that your attempt was not successful.
