Today we are going to install part number 118391 from Tow Ready. This is a T-1 harness for an 2005 Chevrolet Equinox. We will begin our install by getting inside the vehicle and getting to the jack storage compartment. Once you take out the jack, reach down and you can actually feel for the wire harness down here. Feel around until you find the plastic plug. It does not come out far, but you can see it right here. And you pull it up. There is not much slack in it, but that is the connector right there. It is at the very bottom of the jack storage compartment. And simply your T-1 connector will just plug right into it. And also then your ground connector can connect to the ground wire that is at the bottom of the compartment. We will loosen the nut on the ground screw down at the bottom first. We will take our ring terminal and tighten it back down. Next we can go ahead and mount the converter box to the inside sheet metal there. Anywhere will do fine, as long as you have room to reinstall the jack. We will put it on this protective fender well here and it should be good to go. Then we will go ahead and reinstall the jack. And when you need to use it, you can just simply pull it out of the jack storage compartment. And you can actually put the cover back into place. And when you need to use it, you just pull it out and to the hitch. Just make sure you keep it away from the door latch itself that is the only stipulation. As you can see, you can pull it out so it is not being pinched. And you pull it down right to your trailer.
