New Esports Arena opens at UW HD

The UW celebrated the opening of an esports center with a ribbon cutting ceremony April 18. The facility features top-of-the-line computing power and premium gaming features, as well as a designated place for the gaming community on the UW campus. It’s housed in the Husky Union Building (HUB). The HUB Esports Arena & Gaming Lounge is a full-service, state-of-the-art gaming center that supports both casual and competitive gaming and virtual reality. At the time of opening, the UW will be both the largest public, higher education institution in the nation and the first university in the state of Washington to have a dedicated esports arena.
