A dynamic warm-up is defined as a series of sport specific movements that are designed to prepare the muscles for performance and are performed in a safe and controlled fashion. There are four main reasons to incorporate a dynamic warm-up routine prior to a practice. 1. Continuous movement versus static stretches. 2. Movements are tailored to a specific sport emphasizing muscle groups that will be used during the activity. 3. Enhanced coordination and motor ability. 4. Provides mental preparation.
