Stone Soup is an old folk story in which hungry strangers trick the local people of a town to share their food: a good confidence trick that benefits the group from combining their individual resources. The story is usually told as a lesson in cooperation, especially amid scarcity. In varying traditions, the stone has been replaced with other common inedible objects, and therefore the fable is also known as button soup, wood soup, nail soup, and axe soup. It is Aarne-Thompson tale type 1548. The International Storytelling Network (RIC) is a site of storytellers open to spreading Storytelling, Promote reading, Literary creation, and Performing arts. This Storytelleling network gathers over 1,000 professional storytellers from 55 countries on five continents. The objectives of the International Storytelling Network (RIC) are to build bridges to interconnect storytellers from all world cultures, the revitalization of libraries and schools, reading promotion, dissemination of masterpieces of traditional and contemporary literature through storytelling, generation of proposals and activities to promote the work of storytelling, foster critical elements through articles and publications about storytelling (theory, practice, training, education, dissemination, new technologies ...), working with all public or private entities interested in these same purposes, and supporting all those who work in spreading storytelling through the website profiles of the RIC, with news about shows, curricula, videos, contact forms, and theoretical articles that they wish to present.
