Springbank 16 Cask Strength Amontillado 54.4% ABV Nose: Slight whiff of smoke and cheese.....ahh that springbank funk, but not as much as usual. It is mostly masked by the amontillado….but it’s lurking and creeping in the background. Floral lilies and buttercups, Buttered rolls, acorns, aniseed, and candied Pecans. Milk chocolate, Pralines, plumbs and other dark fruits but beautifully mellow for a cask strength, sherried whisky. Menthol, parsley, tobacco, and the faintest hint of salt Sour maple syrup, caramel, apple and watermelon jolly ranchers, and cinnamon comes after some time in the glass Yeasty-Cookie dough but not as much as you get with the Springbank 12 cask strength and the 10. Palate Demerara Sugar, sour sugared plumbs, mellow raisins Milk chocolate syrup, balsamic, praline and pecans, Funnel cake with powdered There is very mild sugar cookie dough and slight earthy vegetal notes way way in the background Oak, leather, coco lopez, brazil nuts, and salted caramel.
