Storyboard, Shot List, Brainstorm Concepts, Research and Find your aesthetic. Location, Location., Location - the same video treatment in two different locations - one good, and one bad - can end up being night and day in terms of quality. 2 - Shoot Hand-Held & on Gimbal - Use Camera Movements that match the feeling of the music - Faster paced song use more handheld / slower song, use more gimbal shots 3 - Lighting - Lighting in any sort of video is one of the most important elements, and the same is true for music videos. Learn to plan and experiment with coloured lighting. I’d suggest getting coloured gels, or RGB lights. Find out which colours complement each other, and what emotions are attributed to different colours. However, don’t feel obligated to always shoot with vibrant colours. Sometimes, you may want to go for a natural look, and that’s okay, just make sure you’re doing it for the right reason and lighting accordingly. 4 - Don’t Do Everything Yourself - Something I’m very guilty of is wanting to have control over every step of the process from planning, shooting, editing, to colour correction. My advice is, if you have the budget, find people who specialize in each field, and that you trust, and then do just that, trust them. If you know someone who’s a great editor, let them spearhead the editing portion, and give feedback when needed. 5 - Shoot and Export Proper Frame Rate- For the most part if you’re shooting performances stick to 24FPS, and any b-roll shoot at a higher frame rate like 60, or 120 in order to slow down the footage, unless you specifically want your b-roll to be in real-time speed. Do not shoot the entire video at 60FPS because “you may want to slow down the footage in post”. Doing this will force you to shoot at a shutter speed of at least 120, then if you want to use the 60fps at normal speed, you will have an unnatural looking motion blur on your footage. Also, Never, and I mean never edit or export on a 60FPS timeline you weirdos. music video tips music video tutorial 5 tips for making better music videos how to make a music video how to shoot a music video making a music video music video tricks music video tips and tricks music video tips editing music video tips premiere pro music video tips 2021 music video tips for beginners rap music video tips first music video tips shoot better music videos music video tutorial premiere pro 5 Tips for Creating Engaging Music Videos Like a Pro
