Problem McAfee Agent 4.x does not communicate with the ePO server, or has not installed fully. Solution To uninstall McAfee Agent 4.x on Macintosh computers: Log on as an administrator or with root account permissions. Open the Terminal window. Type sudo /Library/McAfee/cma/uninstall.sh and press ENTER. Type the logged on administrator or root account password and press ENTER to uninstall the agent. NOTE: During the removal, you will see the following messages: stopping McAfee agent and McAfee agent stopped. Restart your computer when the uninstallation is complete. Solution To install McAfee Agent 4.x on Macintosh computers: Log on as an administrator or with root account privileges. On the ePO server, copy the file install.sh from the following location to the desktop of the Macintosh: ePO installation directoryDBSoftwareCurrentEPOAGENT3700MACXInstall409 You can also download the McAfee Agent installation package from the ePO web console by doing the following: Log on to the ePO console. Click System Tree. Click System Tree Actions, New Systems. Select Create and download agent installation package from the How to add systems section. Select Non-Windows from the Select Agent Package section, type the required credentials, and click OK. On the Macintosh, open the Terminal. To navigate to the desktop, type cd desktop, and press ENTER. Type sudo chmod +x install.sh and press ENTER. Type the password when prompted. To begin the installation, type sudo ./install.sh -i and press ENTER. Type the password when prompted.
