How to Fix Dodge Dakota Anti-Theft Device Key Fob Not Working HD
Fix Dodge Dakota Alarm On Door Unlock Reset Key Fob UPDATE: Press & hold unlock button once unlocks drivers door. Press & hold unlock button second time to unlock other doors. The anti-theft device for my 2004 Dodge Dakota would alarm when I used the key in the outside door switch to unlock the truck. The buttons on the key fob had stopped working so I had to use the key in the door to unlock the truck. But the anti-theft device would alarm when I did that. I tried all of the YouTube fixes but none of them worked. Those other fix your Dakota’s alarm videos on YouTube tell you to put the key in the ignition and turn the ignition switch to the first position without turning the vehicle on. Then they say to hold some combination of the lock and unlock buttons on the key fob until you hear a tone or some other indicator. I tried this several times and it didn’t work. In all fairness, my anti-theft device is aftermarket so I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s why those YouTube fixes didn’t work. But I noticed in the comments that these fixes don’t always work for a lot of people. So I decided to try something different. I put the key in the ignition & WITHOUT turning the ignition switch; I held the lock & unlock buttons on the key fob until I heard a tone & the doors locked. Just for kicks, I pressed the unlock button on the key fob & it WORKED! THE DOORS UNLOCKED! I got out of the truck and locked the doors WITH the key fob! I waited about (30) seconds before I pressed the unlock button on the key fob and the doors UNLOCKED. My anti-theft device was fixed! But the best part of this was the anti-theft device didn’t alarm when I opened the doors. Hey! THANKS FOR WATCHING! I hope this helped you.
