Many of you are asking: Why would you pulse weld as opposed to weld without pulse? How do you determine how many pulses per minute to use? Do all machines have pulse welding capabilities? In this episode, Wyatt answers these questions. He also goes into some demonstrations of different pulse settings, including 1 pulse per second, 10 pulses per second and 500 pulses per second. The Setup: When setting up your machine for pulse welding, there are many different aspects you can set. For the purposes of this video, Wyatt set the machine for 50% background (low end amperage) at 30 amps 50% on time (high end amperage) at 120 amps for each demonstration. The difference in setup comes into play in the amount of pulses per second that he used. You will see four demos: No Pulsing 1 Pulse per Second 10 Pulses per Second 500 Pulses per Second NOTE: The clear cup is used for better filming purposes. It is not required for pulse welding. The Welding: No Pulsing (3:11) - This wed is made initially in order to compare the TIG welding process without pulsing with the next three pulse welded samples. 1 Pulse per Second (4:11) -- At one pulse per second you can actually time your filler "dabs" so you are adding filler when the on time (or max amperage setting) is reached. This technique will give you the stacked dimes look that many people strive for. 10 Pulses per second (5:14) -- You will notice that once you reach 10 pulses per second you are not going to be able to time the filler being added. The advantage of 10 pulses per second is that now you will start to get a tighter arc for better penetration. 500 Pulses per Second (6:13) -- At 500 Pulses per second you will notice a very distinct sound being put out. This is good to use if you are trying to get down into a fillet weld and are having a hard time penetrating. ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ VIDEO SCHEDULE: ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ ► MIG Monday: New Videos every Monday! ► TIG Time: New Videos every Friday! ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ EQUIPMENT WE USE: ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ ► ArcOne Helmets: www.arc1weldsafe.com ► CK Worldwide TIG Accessories - www.ckworldwide.com ► West Chester Protective Gear - www.westchestergear.com ► Tab and Slot Welding Tables: www.tabandslot.com ► Philips Welding Lenses (for Filming): www.phillips-safety.com/ ► ESAB Power Sources: www.ESAB.com ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ JOIN US ON: ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ ► FACEBOOK : https://www.facebook.com/welddotcom ► INSTAGRAM : https://www.instagram.com/welddotcom/ ► FORUM : https://www.instagram.com/welddotcom/ ► TWITTER : https://twitter.com/welddotcom ► STORE : http://weld.com/index.php/shop-weld-com ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
