Significant sacrifices of blood, materiel and treasure were made by the Republic of China in drawing off Japanese forces and buying time for the Allies to overcome the enemy in respective theaters of operation. Standing alone in the early years of the War of Resistance Against Japan (1937-1945), the ROC was later supported by the U.S., U.K. and USSR in its eight-year struggle. The ROC under Generalissimo Chiang Kai-shek played an integral role in securing an Allied victory in WWII and setting the peoples of the world on the path to peace. This is one of five videos produced by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Taiwan to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the ROC’s victory in the War of Resistance Against Japan (1937-1945). •WWII •Republic of China •War of Resistance Against Japan •ROC •U.S. •U.K. •USSR •Generalissimo •Chiang Kai-shek •Ministry of Foreign Affairs •Taiwan
