The connection between humans and wildlife. | Sandeep Varma | TEDxBITBangalore HD

22.03.2017
Capuchin monkeys, Elephants, Peacock spiders, Anamalai gliding frogs and even Fan throated lizards share common characteristic traits with us. Behavioral ecology is a challenging and fascinating branch of science. It is also the passion of animal lover, Sandeep Varma. Watch how fascination towards animals turned into a philosophy of life, one man strives to teach the world how animal behavior is so similar to us human beings. Take a few minutes to appreciate dedication and exquisite love for the wild. Compassion and awe await. A wildlife enthusiast with a particular interest in herpetology and a soft corner for ‘misunderstood animals’ like snakes, frogs, scorpions and crocodiles, Sandeep Varma has always been the wild child, who after a Bachelor’s in Computer science, went off to the UK to follow his beloved amphibians. Currently working at IISc, his aim in this talk with us, is to convey the conservation message, and fascinate us into an interest in the animal kingdom, by trying to link the different behavioural responses they use, to that of human beings, and spark intrigue in the world beyond our little bubble. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at http://ted.com/tedx
