Hosted by Andy Goldenberg TRANSCRIPTION Hi, my name is Andy Goldenberg and I am the Trailerist. Tonight, we look at the trailer to Barbershop: The Next Cut. CUE: Barbershop the next Cut LOGO Some things never change. Cue: the streets have changed I don’t know, Calvin. I think cars have always driven on the streets. Maybe you mean the cars have changed, or the people driving them, or maybe the streets themselves have been refurbished and we just can’t see them in this shot. Or- do you mean- the streets “slang” have changed. Because, I know I’m probably not the expert, but seeing cops in patrol cars and suspicious looking dudes in black luxury cars seems to be par for the course. Cue: Welcome to Calvin’s. Welcome to my Yelp Account. If I like it, I won’t write a review. If I don’t like it, my ass is gonna be all up on that website sayin’ about how you effed up my game for the next month and a half. That I will never come back to this barbershop. That I would rather have a blind man with Alzheimers takin scissors to my hair than ever coming here again. They also have a really weird pricing system. Cue: Beyonce First of all, I had to replay this several times to figure out just what was happening. But second, I still don’t understand the pricing. If I want to be Beyonce featuring JayZ, I have to what? Boom Boom? Dance with you? Explode my bank account? Please, just tell me in English because I have a meeting I need to get to in forty five minutes. Cue: In every neighborhood…. That’s a joke? Without all the fun music and Ice Cube laughing, I feel like we don’t get to see the next shot where she’s bawling in a corner by herself wondering why everyone in the barbershop hates her. And why everyone in the city hates each other. Cue: We gotta fix our problems ourselves. Okay. I love this. Great take charge attitude. Question, though: How is giving away free haircuts to people doing anything to keep the neighborhood safe? Especially when “the bad kids” are leaving the barbershop with the WORST haircuts of their lives so people can make fun of them. I like the motivation. I’m just not sure if you’ve completely thought this through. Cue: Did you tell ‘em it was Awesome. Awesome. Barbershop: The Next Cut releases April 15, 2016.
